REJUVENATING FACE SCRUB
Coffee is a popular beverage consumed all over the world. But, did you know that coffee grounds are good for your skin as well?
While we all know the benefits that caffeine has on the mind and body when we drink a cup of coffee, the lesser-known benefits are the effects it has when we apply it to our skin.
There are several scientific reasons why coffee has so many positive effects on the skin. Caffeine is very high in antioxidants and is easily absorbed into the skin. Once coffee ground infused oils are placed on the face, they shrink blood vessels and remove water content, both of which help to deflate eye puffiness. Caffeine's anti-inflammatory properties also lessen the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. Additionally, the grounds reduce redness and tighten the skin, making it look brighter and firmer.
Which leads us to our October DIY BEAUTY BOX. This months box comes with an easy to follow recipe, organic & raw ingredients to help you create a jam-packed vitamin E filled eye serum that includes high amounts of antioxidants, vitamins, and Omega-6 fatty acids which means it helps with skin rejuvenation and skin elasticity.

Benefits of Coffee in Your Beauty Routine
Minimize Cellulite - A coffee scrub can be immensely helpful in minimizing the appearance of cellulite, as the exfoliation and massage work together to help stimulate blood flow and tighten the skin.
Eliminate Puffy Eyes - Once coffee grounds infused oils are placed on the face, they shrink blood vessels and remove water content, both of which help to deflate eye puffiness.
Exfoliating - The grounds do not dissolve in water, which makes them good at scrubbing away dead skin cells. Caffeic acid, an antioxidant, may boost collagen levels and reduce the premature aging of cells.
Increase Circulation - Pro Tip! Coffee ice cubes. Make ’em in advance and keep them in your fridge to rejuvenate the skin and increase blood circulation to the face for brighter, healthier skin. Just take one of the cubes and gently trace your eye area, as well as the bone structure of the face, each morning to reduce puffiness and make everything a little bit brighter.
Soothe Your Feet - Coffee may be very effective at cleansing the feet and smoothing and softening the skin. The grounds can help scrape away dead skin cells from the soles of the feet, and the stimulating effects of caffeine may help to increase blood flow and circulation in the area.
Exfoliate your Scalp - Exfoliating your scalp is key for eliminating buildup and dead skin cells. Ground coffee makes a great scrub for this purpose and imparts an incredible shine to hair.
Brightening Skin - The main reason that coffee is so great at brightening the skin is due to its high antioxidant content. The antioxidants in coffee enhance blood flow, promote cell regeneration, and repair existing damage, all of which contribute to brighter, radiant skin.
While we’re on the subject of coffee lets talk about a local shop. If you’re lucky enough to be in Okinawa you know that there are plenty of coffee shop gems hidden around the island, a shop we love is Yamada Coffee. The shop opened back in 2015, and has been a popular addition to the Okinawan coffee scene. The interior of the store is gorgeously trendy and Instagram worthy! You can find Yamada Coffee at 3 Chome-17-3 Ginowan, Okinawa Prefecture 901-2211. Try them out and let us know what you think!
