MIGRAINE & INFLAMMATION

Feverfew. Migraine is a common, disabling headache disorder. Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium L.) is a herbal remedy used for the prevention of migraine attacks. A studdy showed that feverfew reduced migraine frequency by a little more than half a migraine (0.6) per month compared to placebo.

Lemon Verbena Leaf has been widely used to treat problems with digestion, the immune system, anxiety, sleep, asthma, colds, fever, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, skin conditions, and chills.

Orange peel tea has been used for thousands of years in Traditional Chinese Medicine to heal lots of different ailments and to keep a person healthy. It’s full of Vitamin C, contains lots of pectins to lower cholesterol, it’s a powerful anti-inflammatory agent, lowers blood pressure, helps with insulin resistance, boosts up our immune system, and heals lots of health challenges.

Sage tea has been traditionally used for the treatment of digestive and circulation disturbances, mood, inflammations, depression, excessive sweating, skin diseases, and many other diseases.[R,1,2][Research]

Hop flowers. Since levels of estrogen are known to decline during menopause. Indeed, a 2006 study from the journal Maturitas found that daily intake of hops helped relieve menopausal symptoms (such as hot flashes). The study involved 67 menopausal women; treatment lasted 12 weeks.

PAIN RELIEF

Red raspberry leaves contain fragarine, a plant compound that helps tone and tighten muscles in the pelvic area, which may reduce the menstrual cramping caused by the spasms of these muscles.

What is PMS?

We have dedicated a PMS Tea to help alleviate PMS symptoms. Let's read through our ingredients list, we listed each of them below incl. some reseach.

The right herbs and spices can address both the symptoms of PMS and estrogen dominance. Try using these potent plant allies for common PMS hormonal issues:

ANXIETY AND LOW MOOD

Motherwort. Is used for the absence of menstrual periods, intestinal gas (flatulence), and over-active thyroid (hyperthyroidism).

Early research suggests that taking a combination of motherwort, burdock, dong quai, licorice root, and wild yam by mouth for 12 weeks may reduce menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes, sleep problems, mood changes, and vaginal dryness.

Clary Sage. The essential oil extracted from this flowering herb is often used in aromatherapy to help calm, relax and induce a sense of well being.

Research has shown that women who inhaled clary sage from essential oil experienced calming effects, confirming that the clary sage quickly prompted a relaxation response.

FLUID RETENTION

Chasteberry. This powerful little brown berry can be a woman’s best friend if she suffers PMS. Research shows that after using it internally as a tea or a tincture for three consecutive menstrual cycles, 93% of women enjoyed a decrease in PMS symptoms, such as fluid retention and cravings.

The chasteberry also helped reduce hormonal symptoms such as depression and anxiety. Traditionally this herb is used through days 14-21 of your menstrual cycle, but many people find benefits using it all month long.

Dandelion Root and Leaves. This common weed found in the yard has been found to help with fluid retention. Research shows promise using dandelion internally as a diuretic with increased urination. Dandelion has the added benefit of supplying the body with minerals like potassium, that are often depleted when using prescription diuretics.

Dandelion root is also used traditionally to stimulate and detoxify the liver which can help promote estrogen metabolism during PMS. Be mindful that dandelion root is high in polysaccharides, so it should be avoided if you are sensitive to FODMAPs (carbohydrates that can cause digestive problems).
